How to change your blog post layout from full view to summarized or grid view at your home page

It is very easy to change your blog post layout that by default set at full view. If you are using a free theme then most of home page layout set as a full view layout. But without purchasing any paid theme, you may change your post layout that will give a great look at your home page, when visitors has comes to your home page then they will get all your summarized or a grid view layout posts on your first page that will be easier of visitors to choose as per their interest. They also read your post title & first few lines as per you have set (by default it set to 55 words) as summarized layout & if they interested about your topic then they click on ‘Read More’ option to view the full post article.

So, how to change your blog post layout from full view to summarized or grid view at your home page?

When you write any post at ‘Add new post’ page, then after completed your writing & after set your all meta tag, meta description, categories & focus key, before publishing, first click on ‘Screen options’ tab that is situated at the top right corner of the screen. Under the ‘Screen options’, you have to choose & enable the ‘EXCERPT’ option by clicking on it.


 

 

 

After doing the above process you have to scroll down your page & after that you will see a the end point of your write post page, a ‘Excerpt’ box will be appear where you copy & past or type your a relevant part of your article, which you want to show your visitors as a grid or summarized view on your home page.


 

 

 

Now go to ‘setting’ option from your wp admin panel, & select ‘reading’ option.

 

 

 

 

Under the ‘reading setting’ page, you have choose the in feed articles as ‘summary’, as shown all the necessary setting in bellow picture;

 

 

 

You may use also a free plugin to set all your post or that post which will be published in future as auto¬†Excerpt creation that should automatically set all of your present & upcoming post summarized even if you not enabled the ‘excerpt’ option from ‘screen options’.

First go to the ‘add new plugin’ option & click to open the search plugin page. Type ‘Advanced Excerpt’ into the search box to get the plugin. After getting the plugin installed & activate it.

 

 

 

 

 

After activated it, go to its ‘setting’ option, select the excerpt length (how many words will be display at your home page for all of your post), enabled the ‘read for more’ option (when visitors click on it to show the full length article), as well as other necessary settings shows as follows,

 

 

 

 

 

After completed the above process you will see the result, just go to your home page & you will see the following result,
